there's an article at www.triflingmental.org on the whereabouts of a new K&D album. many of you already know all the details, but still may find it an interesting read.

Thanks "Anonymous" for posting the article (why is every post from someone called "Anonymous"? Is it that difficult to log in?), but the story basically rehashes the G-Stone discussion board. What the article should be addressing is the long running rumor that Kruder & Dorfmeister have original material collecting dust.

A random Google search: "Vienna's finest have been working on their full-length debut for over two years." NOW Toronto (2003)

Can anyone (particularly from the G-Stone family) shed some light on this rumor? Can you confirm; is there unreleased material or an unreleased album by our beloved duo?

One insight to this rumor that I was informed of was; there were tracks compiled for a full-length, but PK & Dr. Rich had moved on musically and believed that the tracks no longer met their standards. You could also add controversy to the story and say, as so many forum postings suggest, that they ‘no longer get along’, so they would not release the music under the moniker "K & D" or one was willing to release the music, but the other was not (Personally, I would like to think that they still get along, but they have since moved on musically).

If there are no unreleased albums or hidden remixes, then let go folks. The catalog continues to offer new releases by these two clever and gifted artists and the G-Stone label offers plenty of great music to fill the void. Sure I would love to hear some new hidden gems, but in the meantime we have a Tosca remix album & a new Voom:Voom LP to look forward to (unless those are rumors too). Plus the "old" catalog is still fresh to me.

Many thanks to PK, Dr. Rich and the G-Stone collective for all of the great music that you continue to share with us and, oh yeah, that Kruder & Dorfmeister LP that we keep reading all those rumors about.

Cheers everyone, for anyone interested there is a new issue of Trifling Mental (www.triflingmental.org) with an Ursula 1000 interview and mix.

And while we don't claim to be anywhere near the level of Dr. Rich, Peter or our boys Stereotyp and Al Haca (big shout to Stereo, Christian and RQM, by the way!) -- or Ursula -- there is a little Trifling Mental mix for your enjoyment as well.

peace to the gods,

they should at least leak it. whats the point of not letting anyone hear it? life is too short to suppress art.

maybe they're not happy with the outcome... which, as the artists, gives them the right to withhold the material. if K&D really thought the "unreleased album" was great, they would've released it.

maybe the unreleased album is just unpolished demo versions of what has now become TOSCA/PEACE ORCHESTRA. If this is the case I can see why they wouldn't release it.

Good point Anonymous,

It is possible that the unreleased material became Tosca and/or Peace Orchestra tracks. It reminds me of the story regarding "High Noon":

"In 1991 GEB.EL also released "Blue Moon" with Richard Dorfmeister under the project name VERSCHÄRFT, which later became the Kruder & Dorfmeister hit "High Noon" -Geb.el bio on www.Sunshine.at

Hey D,

From approx. 1988 - 1991, Peter Kruder was a member of the Hip Hop outfit, "Dr. Moreau's Creatures" or "Moreaus" which, also featured Rodney Hunter, Martin "Sugar B" Forster & Stefan Biedermann AKA DJ DSL (Danube Super Leiwand).
