man !! so fucked up

I saw Peter Kruder at Fabric last year and asked him myself. He said "absolutely not". So there.

Do they not like each other or something? What's the deal? I mean they still have a record label together and the music they make, well i'm speechless. So why not continue.

They still play together occasionaly but they're into different stuff music wise. I asked Kruder himself when I saw him at Fabric in London last year and he personally said "absolutely not". It's not that they don't get on i don't think.

Plus they have to be getting on a bit these days, I reckon Kruder's gotta be nearly 40

Well i guess it's true what they say, all good things must come to an end.

who cares

Posted: May 9, 2005 01:04:16

All the reasons above are reasons why they SHOULD do another work together!

Posted: May 9, 2005 05:21:08

Does it matter? Richard's recent remixes are jazzy classics (eg Pressure Drop's Back2Back and Valldemossa) and Kruder's Voom:Voom releases are absolute masterpieces.

Posted: May 9, 2005 21:46:54

I agree. Who cares you ask, their fans care.

Posted: May 10, 2005 20:38:23

not everyone listens to LPs

Posted: May 11, 2005 20:31:22

yeah... an artist can sell-out their personal sensibilities and do "what the fans care about"... a ridiculous notion.

Posted: May 19, 2005 14:38:46

It has annoyed me for years that they haven't put out another decent album together since K&D. Surely they're smart enough to realise they could make a fortune from another album.

It's probably very difficult for two creative individuals to go into a room and make music when their "sonic interests" are far from being similar.

Posted: May 20, 2005 08:08:55

interplay between different 'sonic interests' can create the tension and release to make something truly great. So many examples of this, such as the solo beatles never being as good as they were together...

Posted: May 20, 2005 14:07:43

And that interplay can also destroy a group... as it did to the Beatles... and as it did to K&D (assumedly).

Posted: May 20, 2005 21:00:06

Agreed, but it is a shame isn't it...

Posted: May 23, 2005 19:31:12

bla f*'§"ing bla. focus on the nu artists...

Posted: May 26, 2005 11:04:24

listen up! no use lamenting the present. although the golden age of Sessions is past, and i agree it would be a treat to discover some more...we all know that it is not the reality. anyway something that intense and synergystic is naturally short life...
anyway, i think we are assuming quite a bit about how humans are striken by muses;this is no science...as for my own opiniatery, the fact that neither K,D,DSL,nor Rodney Hunter ever comes to Chicago America is slightly alleviated by the fact that with the exception of Mr. Hunter, the old boys are fading like Tom Petty. Now, obviously some of you like Tom Petty, like think Voom:Voom is absolutely masterful. Yeah okay...PKs making tech-house trax in his sleep (and they sound like it...OH no@! did i forget that Shaun Escoffery track which in fact puts me to sleep?) Each cut I hear gets cheaper, glossier, less pristine; Tosca? who? Let's call them the Tropical Potatoe Ducks! truly truly becoming a Tom Petty cover band. Ah, downtempo hits middle age... P.s. the 'new' artists? like Jessica Simpson? The Nu artists, so to speak, would require me to love a new type of music, downtempo is far less poigniant and articulate than late 90's//i have tried, but i do not love tech house or muzak, ala JCR/compost today. CAVEAT being RODNEY HUNTER!!!man O man Keep on Keepin REaL! respect.

Thievery Corp are still hot.

Posted: Jun 1, 2005 03:08:54

ugh.... TCorp haven't done anything remotely new since their "abductions" remix album.

Posted: Jun 1, 2005 17:44:33

What abductions remix album is that?

I though Richest Man... was good,

Cosmic Game is good in places

Posted: Jun 1, 2005 20:54:55

Where have you been?

Abductions And Reconstructions (ESL/1999)

Posted: Jun 10, 2005 03:49:29

TCorp are kicking ass right now? Have you seen their new live show/tour? FAbulous!

Posted: Jul 28, 2005 09:27:05

Yah but TCorp's DJ sets are shit. I saw them in Hollywood recently and they just played tracks back to back, most of which were taken directly from their old DJ Kicks album.

Posted: Aug 1, 2005 22:01:49

Yeah i saw thievery dj set a few months back and they did play a lot of dj kicks stuff - but it was certainly no bad thing and the atmosphere was incredible - Fabric London
